Oprah Hits Barack's Campaign Trail...

Oprah introduced Barack to a crowed of over 18,000 at a rally in Iowa this weekend.

"For the very first time in my life, I feel compelled to stand up and to speak out for the man who I believe has a new vision for America," said the TV superstar, who told the crowd she's voted for as many Republicans as Democrats over the years.

"I am here to tell you, Iowa, he is the one. He is the one!" said Winfrey.
Without mentioning Clinton, Winfrey took on Obama's top rival, telling voters "experience in the hallways of government" is less important to her than "experience on the pathway of life."

Responding to Winfrey's jab, Clinton said in Iowa Saturday, "I have all of that. I have a lifetime of experience that goes back 35 years. I've actually made change."

So, will Ms. Winfrey help or hurt Obama's campaign?

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center found 60% of Americans believe Winfrey's support for Obama will help his candidacy. Only 3% think her support will hurt his presidential bid, while 31% say it won't make any difference.

She will be joining him as he takes his campaign to New Hampshire & South Carolina

Did you know...that the first president of the United States might have been a black man?

A man who studies and teaches black history at a well-known college here NY recently told me that our first president was a man named John Hanson. He was the first president of the United States in Congress Assembled. It is said that he was a descendant of slaves.

This was my first time ever hearing of this man....the conversation was a brief one and he was not able to go into further detail on the subject...

From the little bit I have read so far, some sources say that it has not been proven that he has any African ancestry...and that he wasn't considered the first actual president...so i know I'll be doing some kind of research on this...

As we all know...this is the hardest time of the year to even think about anything healthy...so here are some tips that you might find useful especially tailored for the holiday season:

Try to take the stairs as often as possible.
When shopping, if you are not going to be carrying anything heavy, try and park a little further away than you normally would.
Avoiding seconds, thirds, fourths, etc. at holiday feasts might help.
Eat a nice healthy breakfast/lunch before you go out to holiday gatherings to balance things out.

If you are going to eat a slice of apple pie, then cut down on the amount of something during the main course...portion control is key when trying to lose/maintain weight.
Drink plenty of water to help your system stay cleansed & hydrated.
If you have a work out routine, try your best to stick to it as best you can. Even if you normally work out 4 days a week, but due to the busy holiday schedule, you can only fit in 2-3 work outs...something is better than nothing.

The birth family of Angelina Jolie’s daughter wants her to bring Zahara home to Ethiopia

Angelina Jolie shares a special bond with her daughter Zahara, whom she adopted more than two years ago from Ethiopia. Malnourished and suffering from rickets, Zahara was days away from death when Angelina found her, bonded with her and nursed her back to health. Today, she cherishes time alone with her happy toddler, 2, and “chooses special stories” to read to her when they’re together, a pal says. But now a dark cloud of unhappiness hangs over their relationship. And Angelina’s worst nightmare may come true.

On June 20, 2006, Angelina proudly told CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the daughter she named Zahara. “She’s from Ethiopia. She’s an AIDS orphan,” Angelina said. But Zahara’s adoption papers, which an In Touch representative was shown on November 12, clearly states that Zahara has a grandmother and extended family alive in Africa— and the grandmother introduced In Touch to her daughter, who claims to be Zahara’s mother.

The 19-year-old singer went to her cousin Nigel Alstrom’s wedding in Barbados on Oct. 27. But before the happy couple even cut the cake, she was asked to take her on-display breasts and her diva attitude and get out, say sources.

“Rihanna is known for dressing very sexy - but no one expected her to show up at a wedding dressed like she was on stage,” declared a family insider. “She was the center of attention instead of the bride - and the bride and groom got upset!”

Ex-NBA Player With At Least 8 Kids Files for Bankruptcy

Former NBA player Jason Caffey had two kids with his wife before she filed for divorce in Fulton County [Georgia] last year.

He also has had a slew of children — at least six others — with other women around the country, in and around Atlanta as well as in Alabama, Louisiana and Illinois.

Most went to court and got hefty child-support orders from Caffey while he was making millions playing professional basketball. Once he left the NBA in 2003, though, Caffey's well of cash dried up like the shores of Lake Lanier.

And it's starting to catch up to him. He recently spent about a week in a Tuscaloosa County jail in connection with one child-support case, and had an arrest warrant issued in Fulton County earlier this year for another.

According to bankruptcy documents, Caffey is nearly $2 million in debt and has about $1.15 million in assets, most of which is tied up in business ventures.

Among his other assets: two NBA championship rings he won with the Chicago Bulls ($10,000) and a 2006 Dodge Charger ($34,000).

Now living in Mobile, Caffey is a businessman, making $11,500 a month from a string of day-care centers [Oh, the irony.] and a sports bar, all in his hometown.

But he spends more than he earns — about $15,000 a month — forcing him to arrange a $50,000 loan from his mother, documents show.

Altman said he doesn't know if Caffey is currently paying child support to any of the mothers.

The three attorneys contacted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution say he isn't. And one of them, Randy Kessler of Atlanta, noted the irony that Caffey has entered the child-care industry.
"He's a deadbeat," said another attorney, Clarence Roby Jr., who is representing a Louisiana woman who had two of Caffey's children. "If you choose to procreate and have children coast to coast and you don't take care of those children, you're a deadbeat."

It's not clear exactly how many children Caffey has fathered — and his lawyer's not telling.

The attorney for Caffey's wife, Bebe Caffey of Roswell, said she doesn't know, either. Neither does her client.

"She didn't know about all of the children," lawyer Regina Edwards said. "She knew about a few. She had no idea he was being that disrespectful to her."

The women listed as creditors in the bankruptcy documents had eight of his children— five boys and three girls between the ages of 3 and 14.

Locally, Caffey had children with at least two women: LoRunda [Wow] Brown of Lawrenceville and Nicole Carter of Atlanta, according to court records.

In the five years since Brown's boy was born, Caffey has since racked up more than $100,000 in child-support debt and prompted a Fulton County judge to issue the arrest warrant, said Brown's attorney, Randy Kessler of Atlanta. The warrant was never served.

Brown, meanwhile, is willing to lower the payments "if he would just pay her something," Kessler said. "She knows that he's not in the NBA. But she can't go with zero every month."

[This man is a case for another time, but I'm gonna need for women to stop thinking that professional sports will provide a windfall for themselves and their offspring. Apparently, seven women believed that unprotected sex with a mid-level athlete would set them up for at least 18 years.

And you know that's what they were thinking they let the seed fertilize the egg. I also notice that the age of his youngest child coincides with the year he left the NBA. You know he's still out there s*rewing, but the women aren't assuming the risk anymore. Ridiculous.]

They'd better step up their game like MAC Makeup did and get themselves a working attorney to knock them up.

Okay, so I finally saw the movie Rosewood. I avoided that movie all of these years for the obvious reasons, but it turned out to be a really good movie and the true story was told really well.

Besides that...whoo chile. Ving Rhames can get it seven ways to Sunday. (Yes, I've seen the Baby Boy scene, but he was waaay sessier here.) I so didn't care for the pairing of him with that can't-act-worth-a-damn Elise Neal.

Alicia Keys - "As I Am"
In stores today!

Ms. Keys has said that she wanted the listeners of this album to feel something from her music. From start to finish I can definitely say that Alicia has accomplished that task in the array of songs that are featured on this disc.

The title & cover give an accurate feel as to what the album is all about. It gives you that vintage rock & soul type of feeling, while taking you on a journey of self reflection. Whether you're in love, heart broken or just looking for a little inspiration, there's something here for every one in every situation to enjoy.

The first single, "No One", gives us a taste into a more mature, more musically polished Alicia. It took a minute for that song to grow on me, because it was different from what I am used to hearing. However, she definitely takes risks, that are much needed in the music industry today and it is much appreciated. There is an abundance of beats played by live instruments versus the manufactured sound of the majority of music we hear from other artists. This is something that has always separated the classically trained musician from her peers since the beginning of her career. It is wonderful to see that sound evolve into what it is today.

In order to really appreciate the songs, you really have to listen to their lyrics. My favorite tracks on the album include the sultry "Like You'll Never See Me Again" (rumored to be the next single), "No One", the inspirational "Lesson Learned", "Super Woman", and the powerful "The Thing About Love". I definitely think the album is worth spending money on.

Rating: A+

During an interview with SOHH, Nelly is quoted as saying:

"You look at Essence magazine, and they wouldn't put a rapper on the cover," he told SOHH. "They wouldn't put Nelly on the cover of Essence. Why? I don't know. Would I like to do it? Of course I would. Why not?" [Watch here]

She's had a 15-minute sex scene with some white guy in front of a couch ... Do you think he's right? That scene really wasn't necessary in that movie. So does that make Halle as bad as the rap artists that have sexy women in their videos? Who's really to blame, the women or the rap artist?

Reno resident deems Beyonce billboard "ghettoizing".

Of course, this old bish and her petition signing neighbors should take themselves and that fence and shove it. I could give a damn about that billboard or their "plight", but I will put their hypocritical comments up for you to make sense of because I may be a bit biased.

Pamela Keeney thought it was bad enough when a billboard went up near her Reno home and blocked mountain views. Now, she's really upset because the billboard features the bikini-clad image of singer Beyonce Knowles.

"It's obscene," Keeney told the Reno Gazette-Journal. "I have my two little grand kids coming over here, and they don't need to be seeing that. You can change the channel on the TV, but you can't change that."

Other residents expressed more concern over how the billboard has blocked mountain views in the west Reno neighborhood.

"If you come out here it now dominates the skyline," Ward Ryan said. "It just screams of degradation, it screams of ghettoizing a good neighborhood."

Bernie Mac's Back

Bernie Mac is reuniting with Fox, signing on to star in a new laffer from "Drew Carey Show" creator Bruce Helford.

Fox scored the comedy after a fierce bidding war. Net gave a substantial series commitment to the untitled laffer (believed to be seven episodes), making it one of the biggest -- if not the biggest -- comedy deals of the now-suspended development season.

Half-hour -- tentatively titled "Starting Under" -- comes from Warner Bros. TV, where earlier this summer Helford renewed his studio vows, sealing a hefty new two-year overall deal.

Multicamera sitcom will star Mac as a large, opinionated guy (not unlike himself in that respect) who winds up divorced and living with his introverted twentysomething son. What's more, he also winds up working for his son.

Self-Hating Jackasses

I'm not even going to try to be impartial on this topic. I cannot stand people who hate themselves. Of all the things in the world to lash out vitriol upon, they can't find anything worse than themselves. It's one thing when they beat up on themselves and piss and moan about what they concieve to be their negative attributes, but people who defile their entire race or ethnic group are in a whole other category all together.

I don't understand it, many parts of me do not want to understand it, but I'd like to explore the allegations of one such individual, Erin a mother of three who appeared on an episode of the Dr. Phil program November 6th.

"I have wished that I was white a couple of times, because I’m ashamed of the black people," says Erin, mother of three. "If I see a black kid at the park, I would not let my kids play with them. I would rather have my kids playing with white kids."

Why Erin? Because they smell like lemons and green bean casserole? (Somebody used to always say that and had me CTFU.)

SIDENOTE-THIS BITCH IS FUGLY. THERE, I SAID IT. Now she can hate big chicks with dreds.

Erin describes her experience with members of her own race. "Most black people that I know, they’re either: drug users, drug sellers, gangbangers, uneducated, live in the ghetto, loud," she explains.

To pharaphrase Katt Williams, Ph.D, "You need to figure out what's wrong [with your black ass] that keeps attracting these "ain't sh*t" [black people].

As she walks outdoors, she points out, "This is your typical black neighborhood. It’s filled with trashy people who are on welfare. It’s totally disgusting. I am way too good for this neighborhood." Ummm...but your dumb ass lives there. You can't be too great or white Jesus would've ushered you out of that long ago. (Forgive me, but I love The Boondocks.) Showing another section of town, she says, "This is the ideal neighborhood for me, because it’s all white. Look at this house right here. Do you see any broken windows? No. I don’t." Give me strength.

As Erin eats in a restaurant, she comments, "This is my kind of place because I see no black people here. They’re all white. I belong here, because I fit in with all these white people." Until you walk your black ass outta there. So, she's longing to be around white folks? So you hate these negroes you live around in the "ghetto", but you have decided that whiteism is what you want to practice. Why them? Why not Mongolians? Why don't you take your ass to Siberia and find out.

Erin's beliefs influenced her choice of soul mate. "I married a white guy, because he treats me like a queen. A black guy, never!" she shares. "People call me a racist, but hey, it’s working for me." But he has yet to save you from the ghetto you live in and whisk you away to the white haven that you can now only visit. You must've married yourself a fixer-upper.

[Referring to a member of Dr. Phil's staff] "The way he’s dressed, I would think he’s a piece of trash.”

Noting that Erin’s husband is white, Dr. Phil asks her, “So how do you feel about the fact that he married a black woman?”

“He made a great choice,” she says.

“How can that be?” Dr. Phil asks rhetorically, repeating Erin’s statements about black women.

“I am none of those things,” she says.

“But that’s what you assume of all of your African-American sisters,” Dr. Phil points out.

“They’re not my sisters,” she says, quietly. She points out that she often hears other black men and women referring to members of their race with slang terms. “I hear a lot of the black community refer to their girlfriends as, ‘Bitch, this. Bitch, you crazy.’ That doesn’t work with me.”

Another audience member asks her, “So you have never, in your life, seen any other race of people who act like that, other than black people?”
“I have,” she says. (Insert your thoughts here, please.)

You never see this attitude with other races. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but you never see it on the level of black folk.

There may be things that you may not like that are characteristic of your race (and sometimes thinking that way is pushing it), but to condemn and hate your own race on some shit some other race have pounded in your fragile mind, is unconscionable.

I don't want y'all to be as mad as I am, so please tell me how I could not be this upset at this woman. Is it just a personal problem Erin has that deserves no real attention from people like ourselves?

The Gospel According to Eddie Long

SSW writer Love Devine touched on this story yesterday, but I couldn't let this go by without pointing out a few things that flowed right of the mouth of Bishop Eddie Long.

The current probe by U.S. Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) into the "excessive compensation" of executives of non-profit entities, centers around televangelists and the mega churches they head. In 2005, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution looked into the compensation of Atlanta-area televangelist, Bishop Eddie Long. Long was gifted over $3 million in three years by a his church's compensation board where his wife Vanessa is a member (which is illegal, by the way1).

The amount of money and the expensive items the church "gifted" to Long is certainly obscene, but his narcissistic comments regarding his God-given claim to his extravagant lifestyle are nothing short of what the hellage.

Bishop Eddie Long to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

"We're not just a church, we're an international corporation. We're not just a bumbling bunch of preachers who can't talk and all we're doing is baptizing babies. WTF? I deal with the White House. I deal with Tony Blair. I deal with presidents around this world. I pastor a multimillion-dollar congregation." Does he sound like a pastor or Puffy?

"You've got to put me on a different scale than the little black preacher sitting over there that's supposed to be just getting by because the people are suffering." Wha?

"We touch a lot of people, " Long said. "This is a world-impacting ministry, and I personally get a little offended when my integrity is questioned." You ain't special and therefore immune to scrutiny. If you are innocent of wrong-doing, the truth will reveal itself.

"I have great integrity with my congregation, " Long said. "I would never take their money and use them to build my own personal happiness." Said the man with a $300,000 vehicle "gifted" by that congregation.

Long said a church board oversaw his charity's decisions to compensate him.
"It's not like I wake up and say, 'I think I want a Bentley." Well maybe not you, but your wife did.

Long said he represented a "paradigm shift" in the black church. He said he won't be like other pastors who died broke while giving everything to congregations that "wanted them to live in poverty and preach to them about prosperity." I see Long lives by the "F*ck you, pay me" credo.

Any problem people may have with his charity, Long said, was rooted in some people's expectations that pastors should be poor.
"I would love to sit with you and walk with you through the Bible to show that Jesus wasn't poor, " he said. But of course, he had no time to show the reporter how Jesus was ballin' in Galilee.

Somewhere along the way, I must have become misidentified as a potential Myspace jumpoff.

I have always wondered how many people use the medium as a means of finding love through the internet. Seeing as though the only reason that I created a Myspace page a year ago was to *cough*stalk*cough* a former co-worker/schoolmate, I can imagine that there are many.

Although I am not interested in exploring social networking love, it doesn't stop these paramours from trying.

At the same time, I cant help but wonder: How could a girl resist?

Whatchusay?'s Crazy (but good) Coca-cola Turkey Recipe

- wash the turkey down
- Put it in a pot thats tall enough for the turkey to be completely contained, neck down (I use a large lobster pot.)
- Take a knife and pierce the turkey's breast several times from the inside cavity. (like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas!)
- Pour 2 liters (or more depending on the size of your turkey) of Regular Coke (or Apple Cider) in the
cavity. (The liquid, will, of course, seep out of neck hole and fill up the pot. )
- Let it soak overnight.
- Next day, take it out, pat it dry with paper towels (or not) and season and cook as usual.

It will be the most dee-licious, juicy, tender turkey you ever made. (However, it may turn the skin a deep reddish brown that people may think is burnt.) No more dry white meat that you have to soak in gravy to keep from choking.

Goliano's Brine for Smoked Turkey

This brine makes enough for a whole turkey and will not only add
flavor but give you a juicier and more tender bird.

Ingredients:

1 gallon vegetable stock
1 cup kosher salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, sliced
1/4 cup dried thyme
1 teaspoon black peppercorns, crushed
1/2 teaspoon allspice berries, crushed

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Place turkey in brine. Add enough cold water to cover completely. Let sit in refrigerator for 24 hours or overnight. Remove turkey from brine, rinse and dry.

This turkey month, I've been reflecting on what I'm thankful for.

Of course, I'm thankful for my family, our togetherness and all that good stuff, but I'm thankful for the little things. I'm thankful for you, Larry H., my first object of lust.

I'm thankful that you did not take advantage of a 12-13 year old hotblooded individual. I'm thankful that you took that May-December/illegal thing we had going on and didn't touch it with a 10-foot pole or any pole for that matter.

Alicia's "unconscious" body was too close to the door to allow the killer to exit.

Millie was right about Jason's state of mind. He had been ready to dump Alicia and return to his old love. But Alicia wasn't ready to let go.

While the others changed clothes, Alicia grabbed the ghost costume and the mask, plus the ax from the stairwell. She attacked Jason, but he fought back, cutting and bruising her in the process. The only way that Alicia could explain away the injuries was to pretend to be a second victim. She discarded the ax and costume, then pretended to be unconscious in the dungeon room.

Her one mistake? She lay down too close to the room's only door. If a real attacker had been in there, he would have had to move her body in order to squeeze out the door.

Bob, the security guard, drew his gun, took a deep breath, and headed down a shadowy corridor full of plastic cobwebs, fake blood, and recorded screams. It was Bob's worst nightmare, a real-life killer on the loose in Cohan's Haunted House. At least one person was dead, and behind any one of these doors might lie another victim--or worse, the killer--waiting for another victim.

Someone, somewhere turned off the sound system and switched on the emergency lights. Bob tried the door on the left. Locked. Then the one on the right. Unlocked. He pushed it open two inches, until it hit something, something that moaned. Bob looked down and saw more blood. Real blood.

An hour later and the police had pieced together the basics. A total of two attacks and one murder. Jason Pierce, a 22-year-old employee, had been killed by an ax; definitely not one of the prop axes, but a real weapon. Alicia Cohan had been luckier. She, too, was bleeding from an ax attack. But when Bob found her, barely conscious behind the door, she was still alive.

"It could've been worse," Sergeant Greeley told his captain. "There were just a few employees in the haunted house. The attacker wasn't seen coming into the building--or leaving, for that matter. But he was seen." Greeley checked his notepad. "Medium height, in a ghost costume and a full-head rubber mask. We found the costume, the mask, and the ax not far from the second attack scene. The lab matched the blood samples. Jason's blood and Alicia's blood."

"Attacker not seen entering or leaving." The captain had a way of honing in on the essentials. "That's strange, given the limited access in that kind of attraction."

"Yes, sir. I'll interview the second victim, then talk to the others."

Alicia sat up in her hospital bed and spoke with effort. "We were just opening up. Jason and Millie and Todd were changing into their costumes. Dad was there, too. I turned on the sound system and the mood lights. I was checking the halls for garbage when I heard Todd shouting--something about a crazy person with an ax. A few seconds later, this thing came around the corner. I knew right away.

"I don't know why I ran into the dungeon room. There's no other exit. This maniac pushed open the door and started swinging. I fell to the floor, then I must've passed out. I guess he thought I was dead, 'cause the next thing I know, the security guard was waking me up. Was anyone else hurt?"

Alicia hadn't yet been told about her boyfriend's death.

Todd Wilkins seemed more concerned about Alicia than about the death of his best friend. "She's going to be all right," Greeley assured him. "Just some cuts and bruises. You saw the attack on Jason?"

"Part of it," said Todd. "I was changing into my ghoul costume when I heard something. I went into the next room and there was Jason, fighting off this guy in one of our ghost costumes and an old mask. The guy was swinging this ax, and Jason was trying to grab the ax and swing back. I tried to jump in, but the guy got in one last swing, then ran off down the hall. I shouted out a warning to the others, then went to help Jason. He was bleeding so much."

Millie Miller, like the others, was in her early 20s: short blonde hair, an athletic build and slightly taller than average. "I was in the locker room downstairs, changing into my witch's uniform. I guess I heard some screaming, but I thought it was the tape. I didn't realize anything was wrong until I came upstairs."

Sergeant Greeley nodded, then changed subjects. "I hear Alicia and Jason were engaged."

"Engaged? She wishes." Millie's laugh died in her throat. "I shouldn't be mean. Jason and I were together for years, ever since middle school. Things were getting a little stale and too serious, all at the same time. Jason said we should see other people for a while, just to get it out of our systems. That's all Alicia was, a little experiment. He told her that. He was coming back to me."

This was the third different story Greeley had heard. According to Alicia, they were happy, and Jason had already proposed. According to Todd, Alicia cried on his shoulder all the time. She was sick of Jason and ready to leave. And now Millie's variation on the old, familiar theme.

The sergeant caught up with Alicia's father at Cohan's Haunted House. A curious throng stood by the police barricades in front of the boardwalk attraction. "Thank God Alicia's okay." Then he chuckled. "I can't figure out if this will be good for business or bad."

"Are you the sole owner?" Greeley asked.

"Me and Alicia," said the sad-eyed, middle-aged man. "Alicia has an inheritance from her grandparents. I'm the trustee until she turns 30 or gets married. A chunk of her money went into Cohan's Haunted House. It's a good investment for her."

"Did you see or hear anything this morning? Anything at all?"

Cohan shook his head. "Bob and the kids were all there when I unlocked the doors. I locked up behind them, then went upstairs to the office. They often joked about a real killer getting loose in the haunted house."

"I'm not surprised."

"That ghost costume came from a storage closet. And the ax..."

"Was the stairwell fire ax."

Cohan sighed. "It doesn't look like an outsider, does it?"

Sergeant Greeley agreed. It was an inside job, all right. And he had a good idea which insider it was.

I came across this story of Willie Gary, the Johnnie Cochran of the East Coast, and his former lover and the mother of his twin six year-olds. Apparently, he paid her a lump sum of money when the children were born, but it tail spun into this:

When Atlanta resident Diana Gowins gave birth to twins fathered by a married multimillionaire, she felt her children deserved the finer things in life.

The father, high-profile Florida-based attorney Willie Gary, gave his former lover money for the twins, but when he felt she was misusing the child support, he took her to court in November 2005. Gary convinced Fulton County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Wright to reduce his payments from $28,000 a month to $5,000.

However, the Georgia Court of Appeals issued a decision Friday siding with the mother, tossing out the judge's order to reduce the father's payments.

Gary's Atlanta attorney, Kenny Schatten, said he is considering appealing to the Georgia Supreme Court.

Schatten said Gary only challenged how much he pays for his 6-year-old daughter and son after he discovered that Gowins stopped putting money into a college fund and spent much of the cash on herself. Gary's attorneys have accused Gowins, who lives in a $600,000 home in south Atlanta, of splurging on designer clothes, a Steinway piano, cruises without the kids and a tummy tuck. She also spent thousands on private school tuition and diamonds for her oldest child, a teenage daughter from a previous relationship, Gary argued in court documents.

The Fulton judge told Gowins, a former nurse, to go to work and watch her lavish spending, but she refused, saying she has a right to be a stay-at-home mom [Ha!].

I’m not sure what home boy did, but he has Ms Angie Stone pissed OFF! Just to refresh your memory, Angie spoke with Essence Magazine a couple of months ago about her past relationship with D’Angelo, and the state of their “relationship” to this day. At the time of that particular interview, she seemed pretty cool and had gotten over it. But in a recent interview with HHNLIVE.COM, it appears as though some things have changed. Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman apologized Wednesday for repeatedly using a racial slur in a profanity-laced tirade during a private phone conversation with his son that was recorded and posted online.

Chapman, star of A&E's hit reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," responded after The National Enquirer posted a clip of the conversation in which Chapman uses the N-word in reference to his son's girlfriend.

In the conversation, Chapman urges his son to break up with his girlfriend. He also expresses concern about the girlfriend going public about the TV star's use of the N-word.

In the clip, Chapman also stated he doesn't care that his son's girlfriend is black.

In a statement, the 54-year-old Chapman said he has "utmost respect and aloha for black people who have suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred.

'KNUCK IF YOU BUCK' LEADS TO FIGHTS AT HARVARD

*Harvard University got a taste of thug life last weekend as revelers at a campus party started scrapping after the DJ threw on Crime Mob's party hit "Knuck If You Buck."

Two people were arrested in the melee that took place Saturday night (Oct. 27) during a Harvard Society of Black Scientists and Engineers (HSBSE) step-show afterparty in the Lowell House dining hall on campus, reports the Harvard Crimson.

The knucking and bucking got out of control and led to more brawls that took place in the Lowell courtyard. More than 20 patrol cars – Including six state police cruisers as well as Harvard University Police Department vehicles – arrived on the scene to evacuate the crowd, according to HSBSE president Devin D. Smith.

It's Thanksgiving this month and in preparation to Thow Down Thursday, we will be posting recipes for dishes that we like and that you just may consider for Turkey Day. Univgurl and another SSW member who shall remain nameless, expressed their pathetic innability to successfully make sweet potato pie. Here's a recipe that may help those young ladies *oops* problem.

Nellie Mae Cosby's Sweet Potato Pie
8 servings

Hands on: 30 minutes
Total time: 2 hours

Essentially, this pie is pure sweet potato. With just a touch of vanilla, the earthy flavor of the potatoes shines through. Some recipes call for nutmeg, cinnamon or allspice, but Virginia Willis, Saving Southern Food chefs panel member and cookbook author, said she really appreciates the simplicity. She also said, "I think baking it on a hot baking sheet is a great technique for ensuring a well-cooked bottom crust," as contributor Eris Cosby Lancaster suggests.

2 large sweet potatoes
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of fine salt
1 prepared pie crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the sweet potatoes on a rimming baking sheet or pizza pan. Bake until potatoes are tender to the point of a knife, 45 to 60 minutes.

Remove from the oven. Return the baking sheet to the oven and leave the oven on 350 degrees.

When cool enough to handle, peel the sweet potatoes and discard the skin. Place the peeled potatoes in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. With the mixer on medium-low speed, whip until smooth. Add the egg, sugar and butter and continue whipping on medium-low until well-combined. Add milk, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt and continue whipping on medium until smooth and all ingredients are incorporated.

Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Transfer to the preheated oven and place directly on the baking sheet or pie pan. (This will help the bottom cook, too.)

Bake until set, about 60 minutes. Remove to a rack to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or room temperature.

Per serving: 275 calories (percent of calories from fat, 32), 3 grams protein, 44 grams carbohydrates, 1 gram fiber, 10 grams fat (4 grams saturated), 35 milligrams cholesterol, 184 milligrams sodium.

It's Halloween if you haven't noticed. The orange marshmallow potato salad from Lucy the Star Trek lady that's sitting in the break room should've been a tip off, but I could see how you could ignore that. Anyway...I don't opens the door for any kids or old ass teenagers posing as kids on this day, but I will be watching some scary stuff. Although Halloween fell on a hump day, it ain't gonna stop me from getting my scare on. I need some scary movie suggestions for tonight. Police in Athens have arrested a man on accusations he had sex with a woman without telling her he has AIDS.

Keyvin Shurrod Lyle, 34, was arrested Sunday and has been charged with felony reckless conduct, police said.

Authorities say Lyle and the woman had sex three years ago. The woman only recently learned she has AIDS and investigators traced back in time — in part, through interviews — to find that Lyle infected her in 2004, according to police.

Detectives took out a reckless conduct warrant against Lyle earlier this month.

Investigators verified that Lyle had AIDS through records of an area social services agency.

"We didn't take out a warrant until we definitely had proof" Lyle had AIDS, Athens-Clarke County police Detective Ben Dickerson said.

Lyle was arrested Sunday when officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving Lyle at an apartment complex and found he was wanted, police said.

Lyle has also been charged with simple battery on a police officer and obstruction of a law enforcement officer because he resisted arrest and tried to punch an officer Sunday, police said.

It is a felony in Georgia to have sex with someone without disclosing that one has HIV, which causes AIDS. The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

It's not a game, folks.
